Good Year Credit Card

Good Year offers a credit card that can be used at any of Goodyear’s 4500 plus tire and service locations. The card can be used to purchase tires or to pay for any of the services offered at Good Year retail outlets.

The credit cards do not have an annual fee and offer many benefits to customers who choose to carry a Good Year Credit Card. The card offers discounts and special financing. Some are available on an ongoing basis, where some are offered through special promotions.

The cards are issued by Citibank which provides the convenience of managing accounts online with 24/7 access to the account. Online services include a way to make payments, receive online statements and alerts on the account.

Ongoing benefits of the card include zero liability and fraud protection. Cardholders are not held responsible for any fraudulent purchases made with the card. Free tire rotations and $5 off oil changes provide a way for you to save money on vehicle maintenance costs. Another benefit is double rebates for online rebate promotions. When Goodyear, or any tire manufacture they carry offers mail in rebates, cardholders can get double rebates when they make qualifying purchases and mail the rebates in.

Goodyear frequently offers promotions for interest free financing. This can be for 3, 6 or 12 months depending on the promotion and the minimum spend in order to qualify. This allows cardholders with the ability to save money on purchases and still maintain their vehicle as repairs as needed. When free financing offers are utilized minimum monthly payments must be paid each month and the balance must be paid off by the end of the promotion. Failure to do so will result in the interest accruing from the initial purchase and you losing the benefit of the zero % financing offer.

The interest on the account is a variable rate and currently is 28.99% ARP for standard purchases. For cash advances the rate increases to 29.99%. The card does offer cash advances and access to funds through the ATM cash systems. When a cash advance is made the interest will accrue from the date of the advance. Cash advance fees are the larger of $10 or 5% of the advance amount.

When making a purchase on the card there is a minimum of a 25 day grace period. As long as the card is paid in full every month then no interest is charged for purchases. If a balance is carried from month to month then interest will accrue from the date of purchase. This provides the buyer a 25 day interest free grace period if the balance is paid in full by the due date.

If payments are late or a payment is returned a fee of up to $35 will be charged on the account.

To apply for the card applicants must be 18 years or older. They must have a valid social security number and a valid government issued photo ID. Other factors that are considered for approval are the applicant’s income, other debt, and the credit report along with its accompanying credit score.
